For the May long weekend I strapped my camera, ultra-wide Canon 10-20mm lens and my compact tripod to my back and hopped on my bike in search of backgrounds for composites. I ended up in Steveston B.C. at the Britannia Shipyards. Initially, I was simply in search of a specific image to complete a composite idea; however, that idea never did come to fruition. Instead, what I ended up with was an amazing fine art series of the shipyards and the potential to pull something truly amazing off! I won’t disclose all the details of my big idea… yet. All I will say is that I intend to gain exclusive access to create some of the most compelling images ever taken of this piece of history and I will attempt to accurately depict the people from this era in a creative series utilizing the preserved environments (yes, I’m keen on mastering this composite thing) 😉

Yesterday’s sessions included a fitness competitor and a swimsuit model. I gained access to the industrial site surrounding our studio and found some shade to shoot in – nice change from an all-studio shoot! Check out a couple of the results from yesterday…
