11-hour Solo Back Country Hike

Yesterday I tackled my very first solo back-country hike up to Lynn Lake.  I’ve honestly only ever done one other back-country hike with my brother and it was such an exhilarating experience, I just don’t have the words to describe it.

I’ve since been hooked and have been investing a fair bit into gear, so that I can get out there and survive it. I can honestly say that without the equipment I’ve purchased in preparation for yesterday’s hike, I wouldn’t be sitting here writing this blog entry. It got absolutely HECTIC out there yesterday. It was full-on TREACHEROUS at times, but what a feeling being out there completely alone in the wilderness!!

Here are just a couple snaps from the hike…

Attention To Detail

I’ve been both criticized & commended for the way I edit my subjects. The truth of the matter is… NOBODY I’ve ever edited needs ANYTHING done to them. They are all extremely beautiful people JUST THE WAY THEY ARE. This is simply my style and what I do to compliment the image as a whole.

I used to only do this when requested of me, but the past year my editing has evolved and I’m no longer scared of the criticism that I may receive when someone discovers I’ve made certain edits. 9 times out of 10 you can nevertell unless I show you the before & after and often the tweaks I make can be so very subtle that I’d have to point them out to you.

Here’s a basic breakdown of my average edit for an image of this type…

Studio Superstars

Yesterday was my big shoot for my upcoming composite projects – what an amazing team I had – such amazing footage to come! Here’s a sneak peak of some behind the scenes and quick-edits:
